MANUFACTURING
1. Sketch and warp One of the first steps consists in sketching
on cardboard the intended design on a one-to-one scale. This cardboard
is then placed underneath the warp throughout the weaving process so as
to faithfully reproduce the design. The needlework is characterized by
a warp of thin threads, as many as 9 per square centimeter as opposed
to a mere 6 for a mechanical loom, allowing for unmatched quality and
finesse in rendition.
